On Sunday, Ukrainian parliamentary delegation headed by
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,
laid flowers to the monument to T.H.Shevchenko in Slavianska Square in Saint-Petersburg.
As reported, the events "Final Journey of T.H.Shevchenko" dedicated to the 150th anniversary of reburial of Taras Shevchenko in Ukraine will be held in Ukraine and the Russian Federation on May 14-23.
The tour was initiated by the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of CIS member states.

"Final Journey of T.H.Shevchenko" was headed by Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of The
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The delegation including the parliament members of Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan will follow the itinerary of the funeral procession with the poet´s body in the year 1841, when it returned to Ukraine.
On May 15-16, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stays with a working visit in Saint-Petersburg to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations, International Scientific Conference dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Nuremberg Trials, IV Environmental Congress and events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of T.H. Shevchenko's reburial.
